DNA and The Book of Mormon

Deception 1

The biggest deception in this video is that to the date of this movie (2003) and to the date of this review (August 2006) there has not been any formal study that investigates the origins of The Book of Mormon. Joel Kramer and the scientists participating in this documentary are irresponsibly piecing together some results of their choosing from many different existing DNA studies that happen to compare the DNA of American Indians with those of Asia. This collection of pieces from many different studies was intentionally done to deceive the viewers into thinking that there was a large scale study that traced almost all of the native Indians in the North, Central, and South American continents which compared their DNA prints with those in the Middle East and Asia. The concocted conclusion was that out of all these studies, no American Indian DNA was linked to the Middle East.

At the end of the review I include the actual pages from Randall Shortridge’s and David Green Smith’s university web pages. Those pages list their credentials and projects that they have participated in or completed. Neither of these two scientists have actually performed a study on the DNA and The Book of Mormon. Thomas Murphy has no web page listing his credentials or projects that he has conducted.
